Position Summary: The ideal candidate will be responsible for investigating and settling moderate-to-difficult claims for assigned lines of business promptly and equitably under minimal supervision. SPECIMEN PROCESSOR

Responsibilities: -Adhere to Compliance policy, performing only client specific tasks and not tasks/work on behalf of clinic. -Process collected specimens. -Proactively prepare requisition forms prior to patients' visit. -Utilize a web based online requisition system to correctly complete the requisition form by: -Take inventory of specimen supplies and order when necessary. -Maintain a high level of accuracy in completing requisition forms. -Research and provide corrected Missing/Invalid Information data upon request by: -Contact appropriate resource to address any collection issue such as low sample volume, attempts to tamper with specimen or any other collection issue.
Preference given to candidates who possess the following skills: -Dependable, strong work ethic -Excellent customer service

Position Duties May Include: -Interpreting the notes and diagnoses set forth in the medical record and select the appropriate ICD-9 codes to ensure both appropriate reimbursements -Insurance follow-up and IDX -Codes all aspects (CPT, ICD-9, HCPCS, modifiers etc.) -Assigns the appropriate ICD-9 code for services that have been rendered and have not been coded -Display attention to detail and accuracy in reviewing charts, and in analyzing medical data -Compose correspondence -Performs coding and abstracting on inpatients medical records by selecting and documenting ICD9-CM Diagnoses and procedure codes and CPT 4 codes. -Assigns correct APCs with coding accuracy rate of 95% or greater. -Performs abstracting of coding and clinical data (I.E. Discharge disposition, discharge date, patient type, etc.) with an accuracy rate of 95% or greater. -Refers queries to physicians and questions to supervisors as appropriate, complying with all internal audit requirements, (i.E. Review charts for Complication/Cormorbidity compliance).
Requirements: -RHIA Or RHIT Or CCS or eligible to test for one of these and become certified w/n 12 months of employmentRHIA Or RHIT Or CCS or eligible for testing. -Associates degree in Health Information Management or completion of Coding Specialist Prog -2 years of inpatient coding ICD9-CM and CPT-4 is required -Exposure and proficient use and understanding of (EMR) Electronic Medical Records -Strong insurance knowledge -Be organized with good time management skills

Requirements: -CPC (Certified Professional Coder) or CCS (Certified Coding Specialist) -Minimum (4) four years of certified coding / billing experience in professional or physician practice -Experience with Pediatric surgical coding -Exposure and proficient use and understanding of (EMR) Electronic Medical Records -Demonstrate knowledge and the ability to review documentation utilizing ICD-9-CM, CPT, and HCPCS (where applicable) -Posses a understanding of CCI edits, modifiers, teaching physician guidelines, and medical necessity requirements -Have thorough knowledge of E/M 1995 and 1997 documentation guidelines -Have intermediate knowledge in computer skills to include Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook -Strong insurance knowledge -Be organized with good time management skills

SPECIMEN PROCESSOR
Location: Whiteville, NC Hours: 8am to 4pm, Monday-Tuesday Compensation: $10.50 / hr
Responsibilities: -Adhere to Compliance policy, performing only client specific tasks and not tasks/work on behalf of clinic. -Process collected specimens. -Proactively prepare requisition forms prior to patients' visit. -Utilize a web based online requisition system to correctly complete the requisition form by: -Take inventory of specimen supplies and order when necessary. -Maintain a high level of accuracy in completing requisition forms. -Research and provide corrected Missing/Invalid Information data upon request by: -Contact appropriate resource to address any collection issue such as low sample volume, attempts to tamper with specimen or any other collection issue.
Preference given to candidates who possess the following skills: -Dependable, strong work ethic -Excellent customer service
Requirements: -Strong sense of customer service. -Experience with online ordering system. -Experience entering medical/patient information quickly and accurately. -Experience with electronic medical records preferred. -Experience/exposure to ICD9 coding preferred. -Must be adaptable and flexible to change with processes, contacts, clinics and online requisition process. -Must be willing to participate in ongoing training and have a desire to continue to improve job performance and knowledge on a daily basis. -Clinic Professional appearance and demeanor. -Good organizational skills and attention to detail. -Must be accountable for submitting accurate and complete information. -Must be reliable, punctual, accountable, and adhere to the absence policy. -An entry level background in the medical field. -Can communicate effectively with client, All Medical, clinic staff and patients. -Works well under minimal supervision. -Knowledge of medical billing/collection practices. -Knowledge of computer programs. -Knowledge of medical office procedures. -Knowledge of basic medical coding and third-party operating procedures. -Ability to search the internet for applicable information. -Ability to operate a computer and basic office equipment. -Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions.
